{"id":848,"date":"2014-12-12T22:20:10","date_gmt":"2014-12-12T22:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/?p=848"},"modified":"2014-12-12T22:20:35","modified_gmt":"2014-12-12T22:20:35","slug":"the-pattern-that-wont-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/the-pattern-that-wont-work\/","title":{"rendered":"The Pattern that won&#8217;t work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/3-D-Tatting-Art-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-906\" src=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/3-D-Tatting-Art-4-300x213.jpg\" alt=\"3-D Tatting Art 4\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/3-D-Tatting-Art-4-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/3-D-Tatting-Art-4-1024x727.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-28\" src=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/IMGP4130.jpg\" alt=\"IMGP4130.jpg\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">I have been planning and contemplating a large piece of tatting that I termed my &#8216;art-piece&#8217; for about a year or more now:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I had it sketched out on graph paper.<\/li>\n<li>I consulted my art-major daughter about esthetics of my design.<\/li>\n<li>I tried to\u00a0find just the right threads&#8212;colors and size.\u00a0 In the process of this, I decided that I just &#8216;had to have&#8217; Anchor Cordonnet&#8211;color light grey, black and then a bright accent color.\u00a0 The grey colored thread was the &#8216;weak-link&#8217; in the system.\u00a0 I could get it in size 10, so I tried it&#8230;.but decided that Size 10 was just too bulky.\u00a0 I HAD to have Size 20.\u00a0 The only place (that I could find) to get all the colors in the size of thread that I wanted was from ENGLAND.\u00a0\u00a0 So I paid an enormous sum of money to order it from England.\u00a0 Thus is sat for a while waiting for me to get the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then about about a month ago, I sat down to actually start the piece, only to realize that I had miscalculated the design layout!\u00a0 What I wanted to tat would simply\u00a0NOT work!!!\u00a0 I had misdrawn it the first time.\u00a0 ARGGHHH.<\/p>\n<p>The design is based upon a series of designs that I have drawn\/designed on paper and several that I have tatted already for my <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Quilt-Inspired Split Ring Tatting<\/strong><\/span> class and book.\u00a0 It was supposed to have a 3-dimensional appearance even though it is completely flat (2-d).\u00a0 I have an example of this concept already done.\u00a0 The design idea works to a certain level&#8230;.but not all the way I want it to.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/img100.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-907\" src=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/img100-277x300.jpg\" alt=\"img100\" width=\"139\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/img100-277x300.jpg 277w, https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/img100-946x1024.jpg 946w, https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/img100.jpg 1635w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 139px) 100vw, 139px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is a whole lotta designs that can be done that I am still discovering.\u00a0 Many will be featured in one of my Quilt-Inspired Fun with Split Ring Tatting books and classes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been planning and contemplating a large piece of tatting that I termed my &#8216;art-piece&#8217; for about a year or more now: I had it sketched out on graph paper.
