{"id":844,"date":"2014-11-23T04:16:11","date_gmt":"2014-11-23T04:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/?p=844"},"modified":"2014-11-23T04:19:16","modified_gmt":"2014-11-23T04:19:16","slug":"lace-on-the-prairie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/lace-on-the-prairie\/","title":{"rendered":"Lace on the Prairie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am sooo excited about the upcoming IOLI Convention in 2015 for several reasons:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It is in my &#8216;backyard&#8217;:\u00a0\u00a0 I live in Nebraska and the convention is being hosted by the Doris Southard Lace Guild in Iowa City, Iowa.\u00a0 The actuall address is Coralville, but Coralville is a suburb of Iowa City<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 I&#8217;m teaching&#8211;It gives me the excuse to work up design ideas into a book and class format.\u00a0 I loove\u00a0 the design\/tatting work!<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Theme is &#8220;Lace on the Prairie&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the convention is &#8220;Lace on the Prairie&#8221;. I, being a Nebraska farmer&#8217;s daughter, embody that idea completely. I grew up &#8216;on the prairie&#8217; and learned tatting from my maternal grandmother. Later I found out that my paternal grandmother AND grandfather also tatted.
