{"id":606,"date":"2014-09-12T20:03:36","date_gmt":"2014-09-12T20:03:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/?p=606"},"modified":"2014-11-23T04:19:16","modified_gmt":"2014-11-23T04:19:16","slug":"trip-to-tat-days-part-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/trip-to-tat-days-part-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Trip to Tat Days&#8211;Part 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I started my trip to Tat Days in Taccoa, Georgia on Saturday, August 30th from Omaha, Nebraska.\u00a0 I had bought concert tickets (something I rarely do!) to see Journey but the concert was on Sunday and didn&#8217;t want to wait two days to leave on my adventure&#8230;so I sold the tickets.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_609\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-609\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/DSCN0951.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-609 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/DSCN0951-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN0951\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/DSCN0951-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/DSCN0951-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-609\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My motorcycle &#8216;on the road&#8217;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This trip actually appealed to multiple facets of my life that I enjoy:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To travel\u00a0on my motorcycle which allows me to think and pray.\u00a0 I spend the first half of the trip letting go of the details of my life at home.\u00a0 Then I spend the trip on my way home, contemplating what I need to do (mentally and physically) to go forward appropriately in my life.<\/li>\n<li>Taking secondary roads (not interstate highways) and seeing &#8216;real&#8217; for the night.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As I mentioned before, my MO is to ziz-zag my way to my destination, taking secondary (not interstate) roads.\u00a0 Along the way I found and became a &#8216;Country Store&#8217; to the other end at a place called Deal&#8217;s Gap and get off and interact again with motorcyclists, looking a other&#8217;s motorcycles, eating, and buying t-shirt souvenirs.\u00a0 At Deal&#8217;s Gap is the infamous &#8216;Tree of Shame&#8221;
