{"id":578,"date":"2014-08-27T13:57:52","date_gmt":"2014-08-27T13:57:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/?p=578"},"modified":"2014-11-23T04:19:16","modified_gmt":"2014-11-23T04:19:16","slug":"im-going-to-palmetto-tat-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/im-going-to-palmetto-tat-days\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m going to Palmetto Tat Days!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have recently decided that I AM going to Palmetto Tat Days this coming Sept 5-6th!!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_585\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-585\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN0770.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-585 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN0770-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN0770\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN0770-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/survivalarchitecture.com\/shuttlesmithblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN0770-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-585\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My 1999 Moto Guzzi motorcycle with a button picture of a motorcycle that I just couldn&#8217;t resist buying<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Me and my beloved Moto Guzzi motorcycle\u00a0will be\u00a0\u00a0zig-zagging our way through the secondary roads of America heading to Toccoa, Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>I am busy prepping my motorcycle &amp; camping gear for the journey.<\/p>\n<p>I am also creating more Glass-Enameled Copper Tatting Shuttles.\u00a0\u00a0 The enameled shuttles were actually the impetus\/excuse to make the trip.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0invited my husband along to make the trip with me, but he declined&#8230;.so its just me.<\/p>\n<p>I plan to take a week to get there and a week to get home.\u00a0 My MO is to take secondary highways (no interstates!) and to camp (tent-out) as many nights as I can.\u00a0 I &#8216;feel&#8217; safe(r) when traveling secondary highways and going through smaller towns. \u00a0I&#8217;m fairly careful when traveling but do feel a hightened sense of insecurity when around big cities and interstate highways&#8211;they &#8216;creep&#8217; me out&#8212;everything is so impersonal.<\/p>\n<p>I leave Saturday and am planning to be in Toccoa, Georgia on Thursday.\u00a0 Google maps says the distance should be 1075 miles but the way I travel, it will be more.\u00a0 Who knows what I will see and the people I will get to talk to on my way there and back!!!!\u00a0 I&#8217;m a slight Extrovert (according to Myers-Briggs Test).\u00a0 I really am &#8216;my father&#8217;s daughter&#8217; in that I love to talk to people.\u00a0 My favorite thing is to eat in local diners, sitting at the counter.\u00a0 Eventually the &#8216;old guys&#8217; will start up a conversation with me and I learn stuff.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have recently decided that I AM going to Palmetto Tat Days this coming Sept 5-6th!!
